The end of the build usually comes with a dedication ceremony – here our team and the householders all lit lamps

Leaving our work site – the day’s exertions clear on our faces and clothes! Really enjoyed that shower as we got back to our hostel.

The hotel was designed by Geoffrey Bawa with the idea of bringing the outdoors in or the indoors out. The snake sculpture is permanent but the lantern(s) are displayed for the Wesak holiday.

The day before the holiday of Wesak, the local school paraded off to a local Buddhist Temple and invited us along….

the rest of the group having lunch in an open air restaurant en route from Negombo to Dambulla where our build was in the nearby village of Lenadora.

We ended up working on 8 sites….these were our householders!
